This option will be present for the entirety of X-Plane 11's life. If you would like to use these add-ons with X-Plane 11.50, you can disable Vulkan/Metal rendering in the Graphics options (as shown in the video above) and then restart the application. Some 3rd party add-ons are not yet prepared to run in Vulkan/Metal. You can find the specific card requirements for this here. Unfortunately, not all graphics cards are compatible with Vulkan & Metal.
Here is a video on how to enable this option in X-Plane. Typically enabling this new API will yield faster performance while flying in X-Plane. These are languages that control the interaction between X-Plane and your graphics card (GPU). 圎nviro does not alter X-Plane shaders, textures or any other files. 圎nviro uses its own art assets along with its own sound library. 圎nviro has a user-friendly interface with flexible settings for each component. X-Plane 11.50 (full release notes) introduces support for Vulkan rendering on Windows & Metal rendering on MacOS. 圎nviro is the most technologically advanced tool that uses the most progressive technologies. Enhancements: Rewrote path rendering to add support for Vulkan and Metal rendering in X-Plane 11.50. Compatibility Notice This release of Better Pushback requires X-Plane 11.41 or later. Extract the file in rar and copy it to the x plane plugins folder. Yesterday I committed the morning to testing graphics settings in X-Plane 11.5beta6 with three objectives: (1) understanding the performance difference Vulkan gives me over OpenGL, (2) understanding the performance implications of the various graphics settings under Vulkan on my setup, and (3) finding my optimal Vulkan graphics settings under. X-Plane 11.50 and later has specific hardware and driver requirements in order to run in Vulkan or Metal.
